So you never said this?

That is blatantly wrong breh, no way around it.

The point is your natural gifts matter, regardless of the context, more than you are willing to acknowledge.

Work Ethic as in Kobe/MJ

Natural talent as in Magic/Lebron

this was my first post in this thread breh........

Did I respond to that post breh? Not sure what it's relevance is when I clearly quoted and highlighted what I took issue with.

The obvious ones plus the ability to defend and understand defensive rotations...which I think can be overlooked.

It's not a dumb thread it's a fair question that merits thought and discussion.

My 2 cents, I feel like a superstar player, is someone that can take over a game by themselves. Is consistently excellent, can affect both ends of the floor, you can't truly stop them, you can only hope to contain them. A superstar elevates the players around them, or are build around them. I only think there are maybe 3 or 4 Superstars in the league right now and a few players that are All-NBA but not quite superstars (but close).

:leostare:The GOATS are usually sociopaths with no social lives who spend most of their time perfecting their craft and watching film. The occasional all-stars and decent players half-ass it as compared to the superstars. Then factor in luck with the women, drugs, alcohol, and injuries that could derail a career.

They are a lot of times sociopaths yes, in the case for Jordan and a lot of other legendary payers it is that fact that they ARE addicts. Addicted to being the best, the rush of "winning," a gamblers mentality combined with an ingrained complex of insecurity of feeling like good enough isnt going to get it. Same with many leaders of fortune 500 companies, and drug kingpins. A lot of athletes were motivated by their struggles, or an actual love for the game, both which change due to getting money or actually achieving the goal of "making it" in your dream career. These mufukkas are motivated by something other than their career/what they do, they have to be the best, the competition against themselves and others makes them reach their full potential...

Marlo from The Wire = Jordan/Kobe/etc.

I think it is the Mindset that sets them apart because you can have the talent and work ethic but it will never work without the mindset.
I think it boils down to this. No homo but i have a pretty nice body and im in good shape. Ive figured out that most people are out of shape simply because working out and eating right is HARD. Having a nice body and being in shape is not easy at all. It takes a certain mindset to hit the gym after a hard day at work. It takes a certain mindset to be able to avoid eating those fatty, salty, sugary, greasy foods that we all love. Its all in the mind.
