I'm not patting myself on the back, I'm just speaking the truth. I don't watch any sitcoms and I don't skim through channels. I know exactly what I'm looking for when I turn on the tv. You don't need to skim channels in the age of dvr and on demand programming.

That's all good but what is this about intellectuals watching "stupid" shows?

What makes them stupid? ... laughter is great for the heart and I named every type of show including the damn news. Picture me watching the daily show with a girl or some other political shyt... I'm sure that lightens the mood. Don't take yourself so seriously.

On an average day, I watch and , , The Daily Show, and maybe some random other sports and politics stuff.

I watch no reality shows other than Bad Girls Club, my one guilty pleasure. I haven't watched one sitcom in over 10 years...probably not since the days of Married With Children. I didn't know all these HL intellectuals watch such junkfood TV, lol.

honestly i dont watch any tv except the news, colbert, stewart and the odd law and order re run. all the shows i watch are cable shows i watch online (newsroom, suits, breaking bad etc)

but my wife watches the "mainstream" stuff and on the odd occasion im on the couch with her, im at the shyt im seeing, like LITERALLY every new show has some kind of homoism

i really only watch netflix.. but the the majority of people watch TV and images do influence minds and mindsets; at the very least seeing enough of something progressively makes you get used to the idea of that being normal, or sometimes even THE norm.

Someone can put images and media out there under the guise of saying, its out there so that a certain group isn't attacked, but the reality is that, influencing levels of comfortable is the first step in the general process of influencing a population to accept you real objectives.

Older generations may be oblivious because they don't watch certain things... but younger generations are too young to care or realize- and they are the main target.

If Kia can increase sales with dancing rats, then why can't multiple TV shows showing that Gayness and gay families are common have an influence?

Produces and sponsors (like brad pitt who just put 100K up for the cause) can't get the influence out there by saying, on an ad, that " we are less than 5% of the population but we have more than 60% of the population championing our causes.... don't be suspicious AT ALLL "

it always comes down to money. If it wasn't interesting and popular then it wouldn't make money. Just like the life and times of fake and real thugs.

However, There are lgb organizations and groups involved in the production and push for the presence of positive lgb stereotypes and images.

I don't think the majority of black people are happy to see ignorant videos or killing young black youth music out there. As a matter of fact, the majority of the money that comes from those sells isn't coming from us or supporters of our community.

Obviously based on the fact that I said I watch a lot of sports, First Take, and fukking Bad Girls Club I wasn't saying I only watch "intellectual" programming or putting people down for not doing so. Political shows aren't intellectual either. Everybody dips in the shallow end of the pool. I was just poking fun at some of the people who think of themselves as very smart here who apparently watch a lot of stupid sitcoms and reality shows that I don't watch. And I was basically joking, hence the "lol" at the end. You don't take yourself so seriously.
