Damn this depressing…OP listed HOOD movies so I’m assuming we talking cultural pieces, the usual suspects that we had in DROVES; boyz in the hood, menace, juice, etc

I have a question for UK brehs, is Attack the Block a classic over there?

I don't think enough people over here really saw it but everyone I ever showed it to liked it. Even some kids would watch it at the barbershop and bring other kids to watch it for the first time.

No but I weren’t a kid when I watched it so I can’t speak for gen z. Also people are right in that shows have taken the place of movies for where crime/hood/mob stories are depicted. See how Netflix and Starz have/host power, breaking bad, ozark etc. Even considering white media, look how people only cared for the Irishman after Scorcese criticised Marvel. New generation has much more appreciation for horror/fantasy/sci fi films really
