I'm not sure if I mentioned this here before, but I think I did. It involved my house key wounding up bent, the only key that kept turning up bent on the key chain, that had about 7 or eight other keys attached to it. It happened first in the DMV around 2004 or 2005, when I got home from work, and I couldn't get in the house. I had to find a brick, and bang the key straight again. It had almost been bent into an L shape. I was pretty sure it was a prank from my job. But you'd think I'd notice that key before I left from work.
The second time was about a month after I moved to my new home down here south of the Atlanta metro in 2006. I had returned home from Burger King and I had trouble getting back in my house. I found that this house key, which of course was a new house key, had bent too. But it was only slightly bent, no where near the way my house key was bent in the DMV, but bent bad enough where it wouldn't fit the key latch. I had to do the same thing I did when it happened in the DMV, and find a brick and bang it straight again. It couldn't have been a prank because I was living alone. And I was only gone for about an hour.
Then in 2010, it happened again around 2:00 am, after I was coming in from the backyard to lock up, after working on my backyard pool for a date that next day, something that took longer than I expected. When I went to get my keys from my computer desk near the wash room, this time I instantly notice my house key was bent. Although it wasn't bent quite into an L shape, like it was back in the DMV, it was definitely bent more than it was when it happened the time when I first moved here in 2006, that time when it was just a slight bend. So with this incident in 2010, I went from not being able to get in my house, to not being able to lock my door at all, which would have meant leaving my backdoor unlocked, and leaving my house vulnerable to intruders. It being late at night, and this being the third time something like this happened, I was too spooked out to go outside, and find something to bang the key straight again. Then in the back of my mind, I couldn't help from wondering how I was suppose to lock out what or who was causing this. Anyway, I had about six spare house keys, and since I was indoors this time, I was able to get one and lock the door.
I do remember my dog acting kind of strange that night when I came in for a drink of water, about an hour before I came back in to lock up. He kept barking, and running back and forth from the kitchen where I was at, to the living room. I knew I already walked him, fed him, and gave him a biscuit, plus he never acted like that before, especially this late at night. So I gave him another biscuit, and he just stared at it, and then stared at me, like it wasn't what he really wanted. But being a dog and all, he took it, and skipped to the living room, and got down. But after I thought about how this all went down, my dog may have been trying to get me to come in the living room to see something.
