I wonder how black people end up putting roots down in those states that are like 95%+ white and have no big metro areas. It can't be because of jobs..

Yeah Cali is still 5th in black pop in total numbers, but only 27th in percentage. 1-4 in total numbers are NY, Florida, Texas, Georgia.

Montana has 4,027 black people.

One thing that's good in cities like LA, Berkeley, and Oakland is that there are a large amount of black middle-class/upper-middle class families. Hispanics, unfortunately, haven't reached that level yet.
