I agree with some of this but the part where Assad was shooting unarmed civilians part is and always was a propaganda stunt. It went the same way in Libya. His people never picked up arms against him unless they were faction with a group like Muslim Brotherhood or smaller groups that were anti-Assad.

I'm aware of the propaganda involved in these type of situations, but in the beginning no one cared about the Syrian conflict, there was barely coverage. Most of Syria are Sunnis which make up 74%, while Assad is an Alawite which make up 13% of the Syrian population, his father has stayed in power by repressing the Sunnis, his father always believed they would rise some day and when they did his army opened fire on them (civilians). There is too much proof of the Assad regimes war crimes, witness testimonies. statements from defectors, the chemical attacks, prisons full of tortured and starved activists, mass graves, a lot of it has been well documented thanks to the internet. None of it came on CNN or Faux.

Third of all when we take over countries and force puppet dictators and trade policies which allows us to export jobs to foreign countries rather than invest it here, that affects me as an American. Fourth of all if history is any indicator empires fall when they overextend themselves. Fifth of all there's plenty of countries who have a high standard of living without engaging themselves in constant military conflict. 6th of all if taxes have to go up because we have to pay for some stupid conflict that ain't got shyt to do with me, that affects me as an American. If my country chooses to fight these conflicts and not pay for them and put them on a credit card that allows us to be China's bytch, that affects me as an American.
