So 50 stole Ja Rules shine, clowned on him for making pop music....but stole his whole style....and then all of sudden G-unit wasnt "cool" anymore

WTF happened?

50's defense is that "every artist has their life cycle" and their time was up

But when you go back and look at the stuff put out after "Get Rich or Die Tryin"....not so much 50's albums, but the other stuff they put out was dope

Where did they f*** everything up at that if they could go back and re-do, they would?

The I in Team
They couldn’t work with the artists they liked because of 50. There should of been a bunch of Banks & Juelz, G- Unit & LOX, 50 & Jimmy songs, but 50 wanted to beef with everyone.

He alienated his team from growing.

It’s really a shame because it would have made for some great tours. G-unit, Lox and dipset woulda made cake worldwide.

50's ambition was too much, he got out of control and they had to cut him down to size.

50 saw how they were doin him and started stuntin on Jimmy Iovine, and the machine stopped backing him

On the fanbase side, he hated on everybody.

Also he revealed too much intelligence. When the ladies love you and you got money AND clout AND power AND respect, you gotta have some kinda flaw to make nikkas feel better about themselves. You can't have all that shyt AND be intelligent too. When he started ODin on interviews and cats saw he wasn't some dumb nikka that lucked out, the hate intensified...

1) Game and 50 falling out. Before this, G-Unit seemed unstoppable. They had a successful group album. Banks and Buck had successful solos.

2) Tony Tayo's debut. Highly anticipated, but met with lukewarm reception in comparison to the other G-Unit releases.

3) 50 signing Mase, M.O.P. and Spider Loc and never releasing the albums.

4) 2006 was a disaster. Mobb Deep dropped and it ends up being their worst (it had some heat though). Banks' Big Withdrawal leaked and had major buzz, but he scrapped it and dropped Rotten Apple, which did poorly.

5) 50 lost the sales battle with Kanye and delivered his weakest effort at that point

6) Buck's second solo wasn't as good as the first

7) Terminate On Sight. The last straw. Internal conflict was made public specifically Buck.

collateral damage from 50s fukkery, 50 alienated several rappers fanbases by beefing with them, game and g unit splitting a week after his scorching hot debut album dropped did no favors as it split a chunk of their fanbase as well and then him going on a whole campaign against them solidified it

plus the narrative that 50 had fell off due to the fact that his music started to become more mainstream sounding and watered down and the curtis album did him no favors, basically the unit moved as 50 did and their success was based on his success which began to deteriorate and considering their numbers was always a fraction of his even at their peak.. there you have it

had banks/buck/yayo used g unit to spearhead their own separate movements and work with other popping artists at their peak they wouldve probably lasted longer as stars but they moved to the beat of 50s drum and thats what came with it :wow:

1) Internet led to significant budget cuts at the major labels. As a result, it was nearly impossible to push everyone on G-Unit
2) Game beef & LOX/Fat Joe beef really slowed 50 down
3) Yayo's debut was ehh
4) Banks' 2nd album leaked and then his voice changed
5) 50 made G-Unit way too big. Shoulda just stuck to the OGs + maybe Olivia. But even Olivia was trash.
6) 50 vs Kanye really messed up 50.
7) Buck beef
8) Beats By Dre

BK NY
Too much drama alienated themselves from the NY rap scene, beefing with D-Block, Dipset, Terror Squad, The Game (along with some of the West Coast cause he was their new upcoming star at the time) 50 was the only one who was gonna survive out of the entire crew. Banks could've went the Fabolous route and been successful on his own but i'm guessing 50 wouldn't let him go.

I think if Banks stayed at the time of Beamer, Benz, or Bentley, kept the Em songs, and if 50 would have backed off the headphones, stayed respectful of Jimmy and Dre...things could have went way better for 50...especially if he was willing to work with and forgive the other former unit members
