Labels don't have the identity they used to have anymore, where there's this signature mold for quality or a fit. I think Stalley being on MMG is proof of that. People are just signin' whoever their fans of now. Back in the day, cats brought in dudes who would be a good fit for the roster. Today, if a dude likes your music, he'll just sign you off of that.
We're not really in a record label pushed industry anymore. It's more about the artist now, as opposed to who they're signed to. Back when Ruff Ryders was runnin' shyt, you could drop any album, and it'd generate some interest. Roc-a-fella was another one. Nowadays, people want songs and artists. They don't care who the person is signed to. I remember when Def Jam had a West Coast label, and cats were try'na cop whoever was on that, just because of the logo. Times have changed.

Dude don't want to win

niccas will be stuyding those lyrics decades from now. the subject matter is so diverse, hell the message that he is delivering is just so potent. its so hard to write about flossing and fukking bytches in 90% of your raps.
what made him so popular was his image, delivery, voice, and flow. oh and of course his affiliation with puff.
