I will say this though. While I will always respect him for being willing to take it there with Kendrick knowing that there was no way he could win (at least I hope he knew this going into it

If he knew this many people in the industry were mad at him, he should have left it alone.
I think his career easily recovers if it was Drake vs Kendrick the way the billing called for.
But this steady drip of bad info being released about him after the battle is definitely hurting him. And that's coming from people who got a problem with him and it's personal.

Michael Jackson wrote many of his biggest hits. There's also videos of him beat boxing how he wants the beat to be made by the producer. He arranged his own complex background harmonies
And just in case you forgot or didn't know, he was performing (and out performing) people on stage by the time he was 8 years old. Comparing Drake to MJ is foolish by both yourself and Drake
