Nah that would promote too much cherry picking
it's not cherry picking you can only run to goal if your team gains possession
you can't just park in front goal and wait
but the whole idea of holding a run is a headscratcher for me why the fukk would i want to help the defender¿

if the defender gets caught sleeping or simply can't hold me tax his ass

Tuck Rule is already gone.

In March 2013, the NFL competition committee proposed that league owners eliminate the tuck rule.[7] The owners abolished the rule with a 29-1 vote at the 2013 annual meeting in Phoenix on March 20, 2013.[8] The only team to vote against the elimination of the tuck rule was the Pittsburgh Steelers, while the New England Patriots and Washington Redskins abstained from the vote. Afterwards, referring obliquely to the 2002 Tuck Rule Game, Patriots owner Robert Kraft said, "I love the tuck rule, and forever will, and I know [longtime Raiders owner] Al Davis, may he rest in peace, is probably smiling.[9]

The current rule reads:

Passer Tucks Ball. If the player loses possession of the ball during an attempt to bring it back toward his body, or if the player loses possession after he has tucked the ball into his body, it is a fumble.

One rule that I've always hated was the possession arrow in college basketball, I'd get rid of that shyt real quick.
I'm aware of this.
But this fraudulent call in 2002 spawned a so-called "dynasty"

The damage was done.
:hhh:

They have set positions on defense though everyone moves with the ball and someone is always behind the ball so that's kinda easy. it takes more skill to score and I personally like it that way :manny: I don't want to see a soccer score like 8-6.

This would never work and would be a completely different game at that point. Cherry picking will inevitably occur with this rule.

the ether
The goalline fumble rule is the most arbitrary bullshyt in sports.

If you fumble the ball on the 1 yard line and it rolls out-of-bounds on the 1-inch line, you get the ball back where you fumbled it.

But if you fumble the ball on the 1 yard line and it rolls out-of-bounds over the goalline, the other team gets the ball out on the 20.

What kind of stupid shyt is that? Why does the defense get a massive reward for something as arbitrary as how far forward a fukking fumble bounces?

What could football possibly lose by saying that unless the defense recovers it, the offense gets the ball back where they fumbled it either way?

I've seen games decided on this stupid stuff.

different as in more dynamic & higher scoring¿ okay*
Higher scoring for sure, but it would take away from other aspects of the game, plus would be impossible to enforce when runs started. I think that rule change would be so dramatic the game would not be recognizable anymore at that point.
