So Yall telling me aint NO nerd out there that can write a script/configure a server/firewall. Maybe have a key FOB for backup authentication for attacks like this. I dont know too much about network security but I know theres gotta be a work-around somehow.

Ive read a few articles on the issue and most say that theres really nothing you can do but cmon, man

Better security I guess. I been on that Master Race steez. They try knocking Steam off and all you gotta do is take a shyt, drink some water, send some bytch some texts and you're back in the game 5 minutes ago :manny:

electricity is metered, so you don't pay for downtime

on the other hand, I've been through hurricanes and shyt where my cable was out for like a week, and I didn't get shyt for compensation :yeshrug:

All y'all saying no compensation are crazy. Squeaky wheel gets the oil. Whenever anything even remotely inconvenient happens with my satellite i call to complain and get all types of discounts. Same thing with Amazon, if you aren't satisfied then call and they will bend over backwards to keep your business.

If Sony is any good at all with PR and customer service they will offer something for this problem.

That's what happened when they allegedly tried a few days ago. It was down for only 5 minutes. I'm no network security guy, but if steam and other sites can get shyt back up in literally 5 minutes, why can't Sony and Microsoft? I don't really get it. Didn't they try it with ea and battlefield too and it on lasted 5 minutes as well? Something ain't right with Sony and microsoft's servers. Or they're hitting them harder, who knows :ld: either way this shouldn't have gone on as long as it did. At some point you gotta stop blaming the hackers and look at their network security.

Come on breh you think steam is immune to DDos attacks?? :rudy:
They supposedly tried to take down steam a few days ago and it only went down for 5 minutes. Don't know if it's true or not (the attack coulda just been some bullshyt) but it only went down for 5 minutes breh :manny:

@Fatboi1

Even if steam is down, you don't need to steam to play games online on the PC. That's the whole problem with a centralized system, it is prone to attacks and can be taken down. If you can't log into steam...you have options.

Plus, steam has been proven to be much more resistant to attacks than whatever Microsoft and especially Sony has up for their games. It's steam's ONLY business model, it can't be shut down for a long time...it could be disastrous for them.

They know console gamers will keep coming back like a battered woman, no point in talking sense to them as to the obvious disadvantages they have with the always online console.
