One thing, there are so many ETF's and index funds out there, some cheaper, some pay better, etc

Make sure your expectations are realistic, stocks by themselves can net you a return of 6-10% yearly on average and thats buying and holding, but it is NOT guaranteed

Trading options is how you make that kind of money you talking about but its EXTREMELY RISKY, you need to do alot of research before you even think about going that route (its really gambling) and even then I dont recommend it
