DETROIT (Do Every Thing Right Or It's Trouble)
Since music is more split than ever and more and more posters in the booth seem to not know what they're talking about because they really only listen to 1-2 types of rap, i wanna see where people really spending their time

Take Detroit out of Drill, our shyt is just simply Detroit Rap. It’s regional. not drill.

it doesnt work because rap music is a fusion genre. look at some of the “subgenres” bro stitched together alot of the artist bleed across multiple “subgenres”. it doesnt work because rap itself never had one sound because its always been a collage of multiple genres turned into something new.

rap having subgenres is stupid :mjlol:
it's actually not, there's no reason to be comparing pharoahe monch to jay z to big sean to kodak black. rap needs to be more like rock and be very serious about adopting sub genres, it makes analysis of the music a lot more fair.

no one says you have to fit in one sub genre, most music and film doesnt. a thriller can be a drama or a horror as well. a alternative band could be punk and grunge. no one said you're limited to only fitting into one sub genre as that's not how it works anywhere else in music
