Criticism is given usually for the purpose of improving something or someone. Hate is given to discourage something or someone.

Exactly. Criticism is valid concerns about someone's actions. Hate is just insults, name calling with no valid reason, it's emotional.

Example: Saying lil Wayne's view on Black lives matter are uninformed and dismissive is criticism.
Saying Wayne needs to get clean and take care of his health is criticism.
Saying Wayne is a drugged out f** is hating.

I admit I'm both critical and hateful in regards to Trump. I never liked him, he's always been a blowhard. The birther shyt made me hate him.

Just look at what you can take out of either one to benefit from it. The difference is intention, which is not always clear even the person doing it.
