Bad example. Rock & Roll was literally stolen from black people man.
I mean that to say all predominantly "white" music genres, including 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s "Rock," is dead and buried. There's literally nothing left of relevance for white folks or any folks to claim. All pop music now is undeniably black.
I keep telling people to stop using that dumbass term "EDM" and call it what it is: House and Techno. Black music. Because that shyt is their last stand at musical relevance and I believe the attempts to muddy it into some ambiguous term with no history is obvious. And even that is moving away from the Avicii, Skrillex, Deadmouse rave shyt that was hot in 2010 and is becoming more soul/trap/afrobeat esque.
In any case I just don't feel the same anger towards these vultures as much as I use to. At this point I feel like its almost victory.
