Well you need to realize you're talking to someone who isn't stuck to the news cycle, and doesnt have a twitter account. Im speaking for myself, not for any organization. So your use of y'all doesnt hit the mark.
I'm neither freaking out nor trying to die on a hill. I just think its unwise of someone in his positon, which is very close to the president, and of his reputation to proclaim things like this on twitter.
Its the same type of advice that would be given to the current president about his use of social media
Its not a condemnation of the overall policy direction, which I dont want to opine on due to lack of knowledge on the matter, but its moreso condemnation of the disregard of the optics
Also, using Iranian leaders as the model for being a good statesman doesn't appear to be a high bar.
