Performance.

The Nats went the opposite way. No major signing besides Span, swapped Edwin Jackson for Dan haren. We loss 12 more games than last season with essentially the same squad from last year with a slight upgrade. Seeing Boston in the WS makes me feel better next year.

it's not as big a story as it should be really. is it that not enough people care? they're gonna win it and this title won't be cared for as much, but this turnaround was wildly impressive.

Didn't they have a bunch of injuries last year too? I don't follow them that closely, but I think the main story was the beef between the manager and the players; just look at the player introductions last night. Almost every Red Sox nikka came out and dapped up the manager like I was like "they genuinely must like playing for this dude"

It's baseball. nikkas have down years. Prospects come up. A lot mroe variables at play than say basketball where it's all about what superstar you have and what pieces you are flanking him with. Happens all the time in football.
