Ok, I should clear this up. I read this from the now defunct fukk Solar blog.

Solar used his 5% Nation status to manipulate Guru. Basically he brainwashed him using religion and quitting drinking as the main incentive.

There was never any gay relationship going on between Guru and Solar nor was Guru gay. In fact there were stories of Guru having women flock to him and Solar would try to push them away (mainly out of jealousy that they knew who Guru was an had no clue who Solar was other than as a collaborator on the Jazzamatazz tour). Solar never raped him, but he did beat him up on occasion. One time, Solar beat up Guru while he was having an asthma attack and it was only when he asked for his inhaler that he stopped the beating (there was another woman in the room who told this story and she went to Guru's aid).
