The 6
scottie pippen had back surgery early in his career prior to becoming an all star even, and he showed no ill effects of the procedure.

and this was in the late 80's.
Pippen's Back Surgery Should Not Affect His Career, Doctor Says

That article was published in 1998, after Pip's second back surgery. After which he never averaged even 15 PPG again.

"Pippen, who has endured a series of debilitating physical maladies in his career, ranging from an injured ankle to migraine headaches, first had back surgery July 25, 1988."

a back injury is one of the worse things ever imo. it's dam near impossible to fully treat any back pain. all you can do is manage and prevent it from getting worse. hopefully kerr finds a treatment that will eliminate his pain.

and :pacspit:to anyone saying kerr doesn't do shyt for the team. it's not a coincident that the warriors became one of the GOAT teams after kerr took over.
And they don't skip a beat with Mike Brown or Luke Walton coaches them

Yeah once you have messed up your back it is really tough for it to ever "fully heal"

All that stress of a regular season + deep playoff runs only makes it even worse. There is no reason to continue putting that kind of stress on your body after you have proven your point in this league IMO.

You damn skippy...I was very active in basketball and going to the gym. A few years ago, I suffered a devastating gym-related back injury...took me damn near two years to recover. I was never the same, but thank god I'm not no where near as bad as I was at the height of the injury.

My doctor, an asian vietnam vet, refused to give me medication beyond a month supply...he made it clear to every patient that walked in the door, via big signs, that he wasn't gonna be nobody's drug dealer.

He prescribed some "lifestyle" changes, I went along and my back has been :blessed: ever since.
