It's almost amazing that people are somehow shocked by this shyt.....football players live in a world where violence is taught, respected, and regularly used to solve conflicts, and spend so much time in that world... it's not really surprising that they deal with certain situations they way they do.

• In 1996, former Michigan State player Brian Wiseman went on trial for assaulting a girl in 1991.

The charges were dropped in exchange for House performing 30 hours of community service. “If he performs a set amount of community service work we will dismiss the charge basically based upon the wishes of the victim and our understanding that a conviction could cause substantial immigration problems for him,” said Assistant District Attorney Michael Roberts.
• In 2009, an Albany River Rats player was charged with committing a first-degree criminal sex act.
• In 2009, Sound Tigers player Robert Hughes was indicted on two counts of sexual assault. According to his attorney, Hughes had not given the incident a “second thought until the marshals showed up at his locker to arrest him.”
• In 2011, two Mercyhurst College players were charged with sexual assault and were acquitted.

as well the game of nhl isn't as violent as the nfl, players are smaller as well, and well most come from two parent homes and its a expensive game to play not that there is acorreleation just saying.

If cacs and c00ns don't like the NFL or the people who play it, they can go watch suburban cacs play hockey or tennis. f that's more to your liking, godspeed. But shut up about NFL crime incidence. NFL players don't commit as much crime as men in their age group do in normal society. There are also far more players on NFL rosters than in other leagues. The difference is that NFL players have their crimes spotlighted and magnified for people to see.

Football players aren't taught to be violent off teh field. They're taught to play the game on the field and act respectfully off it like any other contact sport. Elite athletes everywhere tend to have high confidence. It's the same with soccer, hockey, etc.

NFL has a shorter season and longer offseason compared to the other sports, not to mention they only play once a week. Seems like they have too much time free that it can lead to more trouble.

in general, professional athletes don't commit as much crime as their counterparts in the rest of society.

You'd probably find more wife beaters,sex offenders,drug abusers, and just career criminals working at Wal- Mart.

The only real problem people have with it, is that it's become a distraction from the games....nothing more.

There is nothing "wrong" with them...it's simply that they've been conditioned to handle situations with force, violence and been desensitized to violence.... it's the same shyt with football players, boxers, people who've served in the military, or grew up/lived in fukked up environments.
