You don't hear about the Cubans and black players in the MLB tho.

Every once in a while, not too mention smaller rosters

This month has been a perfect time to bring up NFL arrest, since it gives women's groups a opportunity to get benefits out of this(possible laws; programs or buildings funded by the NFL); news outlets to black men as savages. Prior to the past few weeks, there hasn't been really graphic evidence(video of Ray dragging his wife, then a leak of Ray in the elevator, and then Peterson's sons with cuts).

Once somebody becomes conditioned to engaging in violence, using violence to solve disputes, and desensitized to violence in general...they're more likely to have difficulty not resorting to those means when conflict arises.

This is parallel with people who are in the military.

Im in the military, 3,375 sexual assault cases a year, no news story or outcry from sponsors :sas2:

I think a large part of it has to do with the nature of your job. You have to be wired a certain way to play football. it is a violent sport. People are trying to hurt, humiliate and beat you. It is also a public sport to where the world can know what you are making salary wise, people can speculate on you, make up things, etc.... I'm not making excuses but I believe this is a big reason why. You, if the structure outside of the home isn't correct, can become a product of your environment. You see how Sean Payton yelled at Rob Ryan? That isn't happening at your workplace nor at mine. The pressure is enormous, most of these people don't have have skills outside of football so they have to make this work. Not to mention the outside distractions, bad life choices such as outlandish purchases, failed business ventures, failed relationships and vengeful baby mommas. No one has the perfect life but I'm confident in saying that the amount of pressure they face is far greater than we might face, even though they are playing a 'game' for a living. I'm not looking over my shoulder, trying to stay ahead of the 1-2 round draft pick of last year on the depth chart. I'm not trying to nurse a rib injury, trying to get back onto the field. Just trying to give a variety of reasons as to why an athlete, especially one being in a violent sport such as football, when you add up the sum of all parts, might be a ticking time bomb.

Why is it that 95% of the time you hear shyt about athletes it's some NFL player.
Why can't they be like NBA players and stay in the club smashing models?
Why can't they be like NHL players and stay drunk while smashing models?
Why can't they be like soccer players and do nothing?
Why can't they be like MLB players and just get caught taking PEDs?
These nikkas stay in some outlandishly stupid shyt. I mean why? What fukk is wrong with them?
The real answer is nothing.
5% of the problem players don't represent the 95% of players who aren't getting into trouble. But the 5% of the trouble makers create 99% of the problems that gets reported in the news. No one cares to read the news that Darrelle Revis just had a great workout and is eating right every day.

Its too bad no one seems to go THIS hard the way they are with these players than for the troops :snoop:

"Lets get help for Ray Rice, get to the bottom of this."

"Oh Sgt.So and So?

Nah. fukk him."
Even with all of the homeless vets, PTSD problems, rape, etc. We spend a lot of money on our forces and they pre and post war probably are treated better than most soldiers worldwide.

I agree though that media worship for celebs and athletes is ridiculous.

The nfl is double the size of the other league but the arrest rate is 8 to 10x higher then other leagues
