What the pros and cons in having dreadlocks

Come SEPT of this year I will have locs for 2 years. It's been a journey, I have really soft curly hair so after maybe like two weeks mines get really frizzled and bushy and I'm forced to wear like small head wraps to put it in a ponytail at work.

Usually when I'm out I wear it half of it at the crown of my head and let the back just hang on my shoulders.
I went out the club last week in downtown and a bunch of girls thought I was the Weeknd and wanted to take my picture....

PROS: women LOVE it, Easy to maintain, less expensive than going to the barber every two weeks

Cons: You have to deal with locs popping off sometimes or thinning out at the root. When its gets hot, it sucks as well, and male pattern baldness runs with me and my three brothers, actually I'm the only one out of the four with hair. But that hairline is creeping back and it's kinda thinning at the crown too but I have so many locs that you can't see it. I use a special oil and slowly but surely its going grown back in the right places.

Telling you the ugly stage doesn't last long after 6 months. Love grow fast as hell. In 2 years your shyt will get long. If I had mine now it would be very long.

Men hate , and envy them because their women love them. Had them 5 years and had two altercations were grown men pulled out my hair like a bytch and a handful at that.

Getting your hair done and having it neat and visible roots is a god like feeling.

Godbody aura , done once or twice a month depends.

Employers may discriminate but put yourself in position to employ and empower yourself and it’s not to much of a big deal.

All in all I wouldn’t want any other style of hair

Don't use bee wax it doesn't do shyt. it causes bunch of build up attract lint. Also the jamican loc gel is the only thing you need if you gonna retwist your locs

Anyone ever tried this one, note it's the wax not gel. I retwist myself but this seemed to have no holding effect at all.

The top one is the brand that i use to use but not the wax. Get the jamican gel. Don't use wax it is garbage and doesn't do shyt.

Had mine for a month now but I had a decent sized curly fro before hand. At almost 32 it was time for a new look

I'm self employed so I dont have to worry about employment issues and tbh, it looks pretty good at it's current stage almost 30 days in. My hair is pretty thick though, so in a lot of areas it locd quick. Still gonna maintain a razor sharp like up with it though, hopefully without being able to see my scalp

I never had a problem wit heat.. I worked moving jobs year round.. running around all day non stop and my hair was only an issue when i was around dirty shyt.

I like bunning it up now in the back now that I can grow a good looking beard stubbled or not. I've been called Jesus before and "Black Thor"
