OK not much of it, just the being in the library 12 hours a day thing. Actually most of the advice in here is pretty good
Congratulations. Please listen to me when I tell you to do internships. Keep your grades up, do internships and you'll be fine
you have three or four years to question your preconceptions in an environment that will help them be brought to light. If I could talk to my college freshman self I would have told myself to find a discipline - either martial arts or a meditation practice. Your future and in fact everything you do become extremely clear when you are rooted in the present. It is a paradox, but if spend your life worrying about the future it will never come. That's not to say you shouldn't have a plan, but always see the bigger picture around that. I'm just taking this angle as practical advice is plentiful in this thread and you are on the right track with planning the details

Considering changing my major to Finance when I get back to school. Hampton is cool, just know I can get a better education else where. Some of the teachers here are crazy as hell.

Im not Greek but I will say this
1.Alphas,Kappas, Omega in that order tend to be the cats making the most moves. But either way do which one you feel aligns to you most.
2.White people do not care about BGLO so it isn't going to do much for your resume UNLESS you know for a fact someone in your org is the hiring manager, or someone in your org told you to apply.
3.It should help a tad if you are in a city with a large black population i.e.. DC and ATL.
4.Understand you are going to probably go through some type of process and if you are only doing this for connections chances are you might say it aint worth it, but thats something only you will be able to answer.

I say don't do it, especially if it messes with your grades. Grades are most important thing in college . Doing anything to mess that up is hustling backwards

It depends on what you want to get out of it. If it's just for connections then the answer is no. If you're looking for brotherhood/ lifelong connections then sure. Remember, joining a divine 9 organization is very time consuming. Your choice.

Focus on killing your classes. When study time is over, be sure to put in time at the gym. When you start killing ya classes and ya body starts getting right, you'll have to beat the women back with a stick. Any dude joining a frat just to get laid is a moron. Especially if you attend an HBCU!

The frat stuff can be a bit (a lot) over the top, but it really is a rare experience that I and a lot of others are really grateful for. At the same time, its never EVER going to be a *necessity* for your college experience, your professional development, or your ability to have a good time.

- but I'll admit there were dudes in our line that would've got zero draws without it. Its an optional endeavor man. You can have a great time with or without it. Thing is, there's really no half-assing on it. You have to make it a real goal to get in on it. There are benefits but I'm not gonna lie for daps and say the shyt was ALL good or ALL worthless. Its in-between, and like most of everything else in life, its entirely dependent on you to get as much or as little value out of it as you can.You only have so many years to show your ass like that.... I say why not
