This is a construction job. I’ve had construction interviews before and I was the only person in the office with a tie & suit on(felt and looked goofy).

I ended up getting that job, my foreman later said never to dress that well for a construction position it sends the wrong message.

so should I go in there with my steel toes, dikkies and a carhartt work shirt :jbhmm:

Is it warm?

A Polo tucked in to some slacks and some dress shoes and dress socks should work. Or you can rock a button up in place of the Polo and ditch the jacket and tie.

My first college internship was at a very laid back structural engineering firm. I turned up on the first day in a suit and tie and everyone from the CEO downwards was dressed in jeans/chinos and sneakers.

I'll never forget when a client walked up to us during orientation and started addressing me while completely ignoring the CEO standing right next to me.

It's been 17 years and I still get clowned any time I bump into someone from there.
:pachaha:

Moral of the story? Make a visit beforehand and check out the workplace vybe.

U never go wrong with taking an interview seriously... and how well u dress for that interview shows how serious you are.
