my dad was a great man. very smart, inquisitive. came from the village and was picked off his intelligence for a program to be an aircraft engineer. so he'd disappear on flights and come back after a few days then be around for a bit.
basically raised my uncles and aunts on both sides, educated them and they lived with him and my mom.
would play us songs on his guitar, had a ton of music, had a ton of books. loved and respected till this day with kids named after him and older folks who knew him, having the same love for me that they had for him, based on their relationship and the fact im a lot like him, down to professional choice but less focused I'll admit.
he passed away and that changed many things and I feel I never got all the life lessons on being a man that I later got for myself. somehow the fruit doesn't fall far from the tree and what I needed from him was transferred to me at birth.
moms is great too. greater than I realized earlier. He made a wise choice. I'm still in good hands with her guidance.

My pop's a old school Chicago hustler. Always on the grind and always looking for the next move. He had 15 siblings so pretty much everybody in the hood he grew up in knows him or someone else in my family. Pops and my uncles was/is the GOAT support group. Between my pops, uncles and all the cousins i got those nikkas made me feel like I could accomplish anything and I always felt like someone had my back. Right or wrong.
Pops cheated like crazy on my mom but he never hit her and when they divorced he made sure she would never need or want for anything. Dude was always there for me and even tho he was really strict back in the day I see why he was and I respect him more for it.

Now we're best friends and we even do some business together. True stand up guy. That's the main reason why I haven't had kids yet at 32, cuz I see the work he put in and I know I have alot to live up to so my shyt needs to be together before I drop that seed.
