yeah sometimes the skits added to an albumi despise them, but death row and wu tang had some decent ones
but posters in here are overrating them
“they made the albums more cohesive”
that was just the good ones. most skits were lazy and filler

. But outside of a handful of guys, they’re not really needed. I mean, would you really want to hear a skit from Migos, Lil’ Uzi, or Young Thug, despite them basically being real life Boondocks characters??Factslack of skits is one of the few things i appreciate about modern hip hop

used to love The Madd Rapper skits on Bad Boy albums
Prince Paul started that in the 80's.
And everyone started doing them after that. He was doing whole concepts with skits for those early De La projects. It was genius back then. But then MC's started doing them just to do them, throwing them in places where it was mad unnecessary and didn't even fit the sequencing of the album. It became a trend, like everything else in Hip Hop. People hop on what they see other dudes doing.
I'm so late. What's your favourite skits?
Or how about Gin & Juice where we gotta hear a nikka pissing in the beginning of the song every time we wanna replay it smh
