most of the best games i played this gen were pre-existing ips

its a sad time for new ips

Bloodbourne is really just Darksouls but on speed and with a different name tho

i view it as more of a continuation of Souls games than its own IP

Imo, new IPs didnt really break ground like that. Nothing new to the table that games will try to copy and emulate.

If anything, pre-existing series brought the heat when it came to sheer polish, features, world-building, landscapes, etc.

Hard to say. I enjoyed Sekiro more than Bloodborne. I enjoyed Nioh just as much as Sekiro. And I thought horizon was 5/5. Sunset overdrive was highly underrated. Need a list of new IPs to choose
