The crowd was brutal on him last night during that promo with Heyman.:heh: What point did they mess up with Roman?

did it begin with the "sufferin sucatash line"? :scusthov:

Before that. When they used ziggler as a placeholder to fill in for him in 2014 and kept having him do more and more promos and interviews while not letting him grow into his role. I think he would've been a good choice to face Rusev last year instead of cena. Showcase two young guys and it doesn't overexpose them. Instead the both of them suffered.

Earliest I can remember is that Royal Rumble when D-Bry came back. They should have just brought D-Bry back for Fast Lane that year on some "I didn't really lose the title and want to go to Mania". There was already some rumbling about him getting pushed a little to hard at the time but it really picked up after he won the Rumble.

I've been saying that for a while, Roman was going to get over on his own but Vince couldn't wait and just let it happen.

now he's ruined. I thought he was finally over for a little while several weeks ago, but the past few weeks have shown otherwise.

It could've been perfect if they had let him progress naturally, then feud with Rollins right after his heel turn on the Shield.

Rumble 2014. They underestimated the IWC's ability to see when they're rushing a process. Of course no one knew Bryan was as bad off as he was but they should've tried to finish that story as best they could then move forward with Reigns

It was working with him being "Goldberg" in the shield, fans want THAT if they insist on him being babyface, to this day he gets good reactions when he shows a mean streak (he's got great expressions, look how he gazed at Ambrose on the way outta the ring last night)

They wanted to rush the process and add too many sprinkles while doing it

Yeah, it was this.

Them weird promos he was doing left him overexposed when he was out. It set him back a lot, as he was still relatively popular before his hernia. Then he came back and his promos got worse. His matches were booked poorly against people he had no chemistry with. And even though they've tried to make it look like his push is staggered rather than linear, it's clear that he's the favorite.

Doesn't take away from him as a performer - he's capable of good matches and he has good psychology in-ring, but they need to let his character grow instead of trying to mold it into Cena. Same with Rollins - they screwed up his reign, made him too chickenshyt and had him doing long ass "HHH" style promos that didn't go anywhere.

Reigns was hurt most of late 2014 before the Rumble so when he came back people were fine with him although he did get a few boos in some promos.

Daniel Bryan getting thrown out early in the Rumble and the fans pretty much wanting him to be the guy will always haunt Reigns.
