First off, The title. Second, I started questioning at the age of six.

Little E: "Mom, Why do we believe in God?"
Mom: We don't question God's existence.

Years later, my mom was diagnosed with Brain Cancer and the pastor always told us to pray the cancer away. I'm not even kidding, this is what we were told. Every time my mom developed another tumor, I would pray for her to get better. When she would have seizures in the middle of the night, I prayed that they would go away.

She ended up in hospice in 2004 with the tumor that couldn't be operated on because it grew on her brain stem. At this point, I was going through a host of other issues besides watching my mom waste away. Still prayed though.

I became an Agnostic when I saw my mom on my fourteenth birthday unable to walk, talk or even feed herself in a vegetative state. She died two weeks later on December 27th. She was 33 years old.

All the praying and "God" didn't see fit to save a woman who had four kids who needed her on this earth still. Beyond this, the bible and religion in general has always been some bullshyt to me.

It's not "p*ssyfoot atheism", atheism is p*ssyfoot atheism because it's typically "lack of belief" atheism. In a formal setting, atheists have the burden of proof, if you wish to shrug it, welcome to agnosticism. I will defend atheism as a negation to a theistic proposition through bayes theorem in fun debates but most atheists are separated from the philosophical roots of the position, and present as lacktheists with a political narrative, I support the political narrative but not the burden shrugging.

But understand, atheists have a burden of proof in a formal setting. So I must ask, what proof do you have to justify the negation of god?

Nah it's not atheism because I don't reject the idea that something made us, this world, this universe. I just don't know what that thing is and won't know at all until I'm dead (or won't know). And you won't either.

Anyway, when I was about 11 my father told me anyone could be forgiven and go to heaven if they repented and truly believed it. I asked him if someone was just a good person and didnt believe would they go to heaven my dad said no. We were learning about WW2 in school and as Hitler seemed like the most evil man ever to me at the time I asked if he were to repent and truly believe it would he go to heaven. pops said yes. That shyt didn't sit right with me and I actually started to read the bible basically front to back. Over the course of that my lil kid brain was able to piece together this was either some utter bullshyt, but I didn't fully embrace it as nonsense openly till I was much older and could have my own voice.
