The Blackplanet/Yahoo chat room/CollegeClub late 90s, early 00s. If you don't remember them days, I can't take your opinion on the Internet seriously. shyt was like the wild Wild West of the net. Like all the stories your hear from cats that was gettin money in the 80s in the game. Don't let that IM pop up from one of the sites

i remember nikkas getting expelled over blackplanet fukkery...some of the shyt that went down, over a fukking dial up connection at that...was just unreal.

Definitely. I was the first kid in my grade with a CD burner (4x ), would take orders of new albums from people from school through AIM and then go find them in Napster or Audio Galaxy. Would have it for them the next day and collected my $12. Had an English teacher discretely ask me to burn the Marshall Mathers LP when he caught on to the fact that I was slanging out of my backpack during class. Made a good amount of money in middle school

I love all the content of today's Internet, but back in the mid-2000's the sh!t was PERFECT in terms of the freedom and relative anonymity. It sucks now that everyone is online. It isn't the lawless refuge it once was.
