the reason people left was the arrogance of the staff. lots of favoritism from the mods, servers kept crashing (the running joke was that the servers were powered by a hamster on a wheel). and when people complained they would tell us "if you don't like it, make your own forums/join another messageboard". it was a combination of many factors and a perfect storm.
