More often than not I tend to take that L.
First was a 1987 Buick Somerset. Dad gave it to me. It was his old get around town whip. Car was a beater but ran like a champ. Great for a young dude. No car payments. Only real issue I had was that the heater core went out. 
In the middle of winter while I was driving from Pittsburgh to Portsmouth VA. . I was on the beltway in DC when it started pumping out cold air. . . By the time I got to my barracks in Portsmouth. . . .My feet were blocks of ice. I

1993 Toyota Corolla, looked exactly like this one, took off the hubcaps and everything:
shyt was a tank, ripped thru rain, sleet, and snow like a monster truck. only time I ever had a problem with it was when I blew out the engine going to work at Jersey Gardens Mall. after that I copped a used engine with only 70-something thousand miles for like $350. dropped it in and it was like a brand new toyota all over again...I kinda miss that shyt.
in reality my 1st car was a

first and only car i had my dad got me to practice drive in... i drove it ONE TIME... and never got my license.. didnt prioritize right. it was some old car but it was pretty decent... all i remember is it had the word 'sun' in it.....
