I mean he did have genuine love for BIG, correct.

Any fan of BIG wont really question or scrutinize Jay for using Biggie lines in his rap.

I never really thought of it as biting, I just saw it as paying homage, plus Jay's style can be very free/spontaneous, if something comes into his head delivery wise or lyrically he may use it and then add on.
Biting I would feel is if he's doing it to unknown people or not giving props, but Big for instance was huge, everybody should know BIg, so I don't see the issue there, particularly considering they were close friends, I DO think it helped keep Biggie's name active too, he's mentioned or sampled Big in a bunch of songs, or used his lines, I never had an issue with it with Jay, it's the context and how it's done and the intentions also...

jay's a biter because hes been jacking other rappers' styles & flows for decades now.
but as for spitting other rappers' bars; everybody does that. that's just paying homage. its not like jay was quoting under-the-radar lyrics and taking credit, like lil wayne does.

Ideally yes, but a lot of Biggie fans have a very negative view of Jay and a skewed perspective of what their relationship was.

Yeah but it's more than just BIG lyrics in that video that he "paid homage" to, fam.....and I believe there's a difference between paying homage with a FEW lines and "paying homage" with SEVERAL lines. It's like, where does the BOUNDARY lie, yunno?
And if anybody else had done this much "paying homage", people would've been looking at them funny in the light.
But it's whatever....I gave up on this argument back in 2012, after we all left
. shyt was like arguing with current Drake fans back then, people constantly givin the nikka a pass for all that "paying homage", and NOBODY was even sayin' that shyt ("I'm just paying homage") before he proclaimed that's what it was....people just love(d) him so much that they automatically co-signed it without seeing the illogical nature of the claim. 
...well, that's the other thing. People REALLY try to act like Jay didn't shark Young Chris's whole flow.
