I agree, I'd love to understand the appeal from a Gen Z breh. It's like a continuous live chat and you can barely keep a convo with 1 poster for a little while, let a lone multiple.Discord fukking sucks

No question forums like this one are outdated as shyt but it's also pretty evident that people do like other forms of conversation/discussion than instant "live" interaction.
Yeah, I get the appeal for "live" reacting/viewing. Specially if you are young. But it's a completely different format, I guess I'm more curious as to why a message board format is so looked down on by the newer generations. This forum was "live" once upon a time where you could see people typing their message but it slowed everything down. I've always prefer the board style over something like discord. Reddit format sucks tho too
Message boards are extremely outdated and have no ease of access for the younger generation to build community. That's why everyone gravitates towards Discord or other social media. Xenforo costs 300 dollars and still feels clunky, the free forum options are still stuck in the early 2000's. I'm 29, Discord came out when I was 18 but I see the appeal of both. There's just no modern forum builder otherwise I think there's still a space for it. Discord DOES have a forum feature but not many know or utilize it, there is barely any support for it on Discords developer side either so yeaYeah, I get the appeal for "live" reacting/viewing. Reddit format is horrible. It's a cool place to lurk if you are looking for a specific thing, but to be part of a community it makes no sense to me.

So you can continue your internet propaganda?Let me mod there![]()
Discord is much better than message boards to me…
The biggest problem with message boards (IMO) is how contrived conversations are. Even when you eliminate the obvious trolls who just say stuff for engagement, the conversation on message boards are so hot take centered. Every post reads like some grandiose statement attempting to be made rather than a conversation starter, and that usually unfolds into a combative back and forth where people are picking singular specific points from posts to respond to while ignoring the full contexts of eachothers posts. It’s a nonstop cycle. same thing with Twitter. all nuance gets lost.
Discord is more of an evenflow conversation and at least for me, that’s damn near the only time wrestling conversation isn’t like pulling teeth. It’s the reason show threads work so well on this site while every other thread is problematic (outside of the horny Jack off jams yall be having for women wrestlers)
It’s harder to purposely misinterpret, pick and choose talking points to respond to, etc. when a conversation is direct and happening in real time
But thats just me. If this site folds, yall can follow me on instagram or something. Def not migrating to another forum lol
