G-Unit was more raw than Dipset before 50's commercial success... Every nikka in ny was fukkin with G-Unit n 50 until they became too mainstream as it happens with most hip hop acts...

If you blow up nikkaz is gonna start hatin' on you.

Now dipset was always a more local act... These nikkaz was trendsetters, funny and had a lot of swag...

But G-unit were always bigger nationwide... They had Banks, Buck and Game besides 50 goin platinum... While back then dipset's biggest acts was only cam and santana. Jimmy was considered more a behind the scenes guy

Im not disagreeing with you, im curious because everyone knows thats what happens with artists, before commercial they are more gritty. Like imo of Wiz,Cudi and BOB back before they went mainstream they did a lot more rappin that i thought was good then they got their big deals and commercial success and now its not like then at all.

Do you know of any pre commercial g-unit songs or tracks to check for? before their first album i wasnt aware they existed either as G-unit or independent artists, I know Buck has been around as far as Banks or Yayo...didnt know they were born before the album dropped.

Chekc out all the G-Unit radio mixtapes before 2003... think they dropped like 3 of those... Also 50 dropped like 3 mixtapes before GRODT.... and they featured a lot of G-Unit...

You got to remember back then G-Unit was only made up of Yayo Banks and 50... Game was still shelved on aftermath and Buck was signed to Juvenile back then...

I remember even Yayo was gettin a lot of love cause he wasnt so wack back then

nikkaz forget 50 was the one who brought the mixtape game back... Only DJs was droppin mixtapes and they featured a bunch of artists... This is how 50 became so hot in ny...

When GRODT dropped his buzz was huge, no artists has had a buzz that big since 50 and before him DMX.

The dips just made better music for a longer time, they team would ride on anybody, and hell rell and Jr writer could rap better than anybody on gunit, and if cam wouldn't have had that beef wit jay, him and dipset would he much bigger

This is true... I think jay felt threatened by Cam's success with his first Rocafella album, plus Dame was too close to Cam... I always expected Juelz to be the next big star from NY, his flow was sick... too bad the fallout with jay happened and then 50 came along and divided that clique
