What would a potential 5/6 rings do for Durant's & Curry's legacy?

Currently aving this discussion at work today. I think that sort of expected dominance would cement both as Top 10 players of all time, possibly Top 5. What y'all think? :patrice:

Honestly Durants legacy will be viewed with an asterisk by fans, media and most of the players and ex players around the league...im not saying thats right or wrong but nobody will talk about his rings without bringing up as a footnote how he jumped on a 73-9 team to do it....

Depending on how it's done, they'd be considered one of the dominant teams in NBA history and the best of their era. Dominance and sustained excellence will make people forget about him hopping on because at the very least he did what he was suppose to do. KD and Steph will be credited with bringing prestige and cache to the Warriors franchise and might inspire a huge crop of future NBA stars in the Bay Area. :ld:

In terms of their individual rankings, again it'd depend on how they got these 5-6 rings. Either way they'd most likely be pretty high up on the list by that point. Personally though, I think that's what makes ranking individual players like we do so problematic because these Warriors are playing in a much different NBA now so should they or the players they're ranking against be penalized for the era they played in?

I always felt like kd was a top 5 talent and along with wilt, shaq and bron he's one of the biggest mismatches the game has ever seen I don't hold him going to golden state against him I wish he didn't but great play is great play I think when it's all said and done he'll sit comfortably in the top 10 maybe even top 5 while curry is between the 10-15 range

If Durant is outplaying LeBron every game then, nah

People who know the game already had Durant ranked as the goat PURE small forward well before this

The fact is, they play in the West and is easily the best conference throughout NBA history. 08 West is up there too.

People however, will see KD hopping on a bandwagon and won't acknowledge the talent or successes these two will have. If they did that they would easily be top 5 players.

If they go out with 5/6 and most of them being against cleveland then curry will go down as either top 2 or 1a/1b point guard of all time and KD will go down as better than LeBron but out of reach of Jordan.

Well Curry and LeBron made this era the way it is now. They arent a product of this NBA era so I dont know how they would be penalized. The guys who will come after them will be a product of this era though. LaMelo Ball is a perfect example

No it won't. Perhaps some real basketball fans will put a * but everybody else will put the Warriors in the GOAT convo if they can achieve that amount of success

Absolutely it will, people will question if KD could win a ring if he didnt jump on Stephs team, you have players 1-2 years removed from the league already saying it lol...

theres not getting around it,it will be a footnote on every angle this Warriors team is viewed.
No question it will be looked at as a top 3 team all time and right after folks will say cuz Durant was scared after losing to them and joined them...

Im sure he wont care about that but that isnt going away.
