Currently aving this discussion at work today. I think that sort of expected dominance would cement both as Top 10 players of all time, possibly Top 5. What y'all think?
No, because to be an all-time great you have to have competition. Right now the league is watered down. I believe it's because players are not as good coming out of college. In the past, nikkaz would get seasoned before entering the league. Now it's based more on potential.
So what has to be recognized is the level of play had dropped off, the amount of players that get to develop has dropped off signsignificantly. Then with the salary caps/etc being what they be now, it's easier for players to move around. So the team you say is the best is not even close. Just visualize the Showtime Lakers for a moment (I'm not saying they the best either) you see Draymond shutting down anyone? Really? Clay Thompson while a great scorer at times more often than not is not a factor. This team is benefiting from a weaker league and rules that favors the offense.

Only person who has proven himself as a all-time great, top 5 to ever do it, and is still playing? LeBron. But he's not and never will be on Jordan's level. He's more like a Magic Barkley combo. Tbc...
