What would a potential 5/6 rings do for Durant's & Curry's legacy?

Honestly Durants legacy will be viewed with an asterisk by fans, media and most of the players and ex players around the league...im not saying thats right or wrong but nobody will talk about his rings without bringing up as a footnote how he jumped on a 73-9 team to do it....
At the end of the day the 73 wins was a 1 year thing only. If GS goes on a run here for a few titles and KD is the engine that makes it go there is no asterisk.

Currently aving this discussion at work today. I think that sort of expected dominance would cement both as Top 10 players of all time, possibly Top 5. What y'all think? :patrice:
No, because to be an all-time great you have to have competition. Right now the league is watered down. I believe it's because players are not as good coming out of college. In the past, nikkaz would get seasoned before entering the league. Now it's based more on potential.

So what has to be recognized is the level of play had dropped off, the amount of players that get to develop has dropped off signsignificantly. Then with the salary caps/etc being what they be now, it's easier for players to move around. So the team you say is the best is not even close. Just visualize the Showtime Lakers for a moment (I'm not saying they the best either) you see Draymond shutting down anyone? Really? Clay Thompson while a great scorer at times more often than not is not a factor. This team is benefiting from a weaker league and rules that favors the offense.

I'm a huge basketball fan, to answer your question, hell no. They don't pass the eye test. And I don't know if it's the media or what but people keep talking about everything as best of all time. Kobe, LeBron, golden state. Just stop it, most of us has seen better :francis: Only person who has proven himself as a all-time great, top 5 to ever do it, and is still playing? LeBron. But he's not and never will be on Jordan's level. He's more like a Magic Barkley combo. Tbc...

Absolutely it will, people will question if KD could win a ring if he didnt jump on Stephs team, you have players 1-2 years removed from the league already saying it lol...

If he wins finals MVP and outplays Lebron this series, no they won't. If he was just there as a second option then your point makes sense. It's hard to have that type of criticism for someone who can legit averaged 35 on 55% This is like when we said Lebron couldn't win without Wade and Bosh

Literally everything that is said about Durant was said about Lebron when he went to Miami and he(Lebron) had much worse criticism then KD

The fact is, they play in the West and is easily the best conference throughout NBA history. 08 West is up there too.

People however, will see KD hopping on a bandwagon and won't acknowledge the talent or successes these two will have. If they did that they would easily be top 5 players.
I like the Dubs but West been lowkey :trash: since KD destroyed the power balance last year. It's not that much better than the East. Only healthy Spurs could give Dubs/Cavs problems. B-level West teams like Rockets, Clippers, Jazz, Thunder would get fukked up against either of those

Yeah I'm thinking future tense, Kawhi is only going to get better and they were dealing with GSW. In 5 years the Timberwolves core are all going to another team, AD may get a proper playmaker, Lakers byke.

All of that with the current status of the West already makes it better. The future of the East is to migrate to the West.

Even if they go on to win 4 that angle will still be there, cats will say he couldnt have done without joining a team that was already a championship team...Whether hes the MVP or not wont realyl change that attitude.

Curry will be in the top 10 point guards of all time possibly

And KD third or second best SF behind Bron possibly ahead of Bird

They won't be on any top 10 lists

Yup I think they're underrating how journalists and former players can be trivial over moves like the one KD made.

Look at Stephen Jackson whos now retired and an analyst on all these ESPN shows hes reiterating the point,of all people and ex players HIM ???? talking about KD's legacy....forget about the retired players from the 80s and 90s dudes everybody thought was the realest are going in now....You cant erase that talking point cuz it wont go away quietly...and there been no precedence of it before which will continue to fuel the argument.

Lol, how about Durant win one. Just one. Curry was hailed as the best little guy of all-time last year before he choked the last three games of the series. These nikkas aren't invincible.
