What did happen is Bone released a smash single in First of the Month,which was bigger than either of the singles from COACU. The album did 2 million (in 1995). Then when they finally released the new version of CROSSROADS in 1996,they moved and additional 2/3 million.

IN CLOSING,we can't downplay what snoop was bringing,when he had a full blown female clone of him within 6-7 months of his debut.
The brat became the first female solo rapper to go plat,by blatantly emulating snoop.

All this is deflection in popularity and not actual skill.
