Ultimately they would fail because white people wouldn't spend money on it. These sports are billion dollar industries because white people pay to see it. They wouldn't pay to see an all black league.
If the college athletes started, the HBCU's would dominate for a lil while but once white people start boycotting the black teams, that's it, money will dry up quick.
Pros is different because you can't just choose to go to an all black team. They'd have to form their own league. That league would have empty stadiums and arenas. So you could have the illest football or basketball team of all time but no audience.
I would love to see at least an attempt at the college level though. I mean to some degree. Enough that FAMU can win a College Football Playoff.
Also keep in mind HBCU's be shady as fukk and the NCAA would probably easily find all sorts of violations to shut those programs down.
this is the problem. what' your definition of success? ok, they will lose out on endorsements and the multi-millino dollar contracts. but i also think that you are severely underestimating the power of the black community. We have 1.1 trillion dollars in spending power. People are quick to trade in their dignity for a dollar. lol at whites boycotting. who cares. it's about being around you and yours and not working under slave conditions with little opportunity for ownership.

Let's face it. Black athletes are the foundation of modern day sports. Something huge like that would make a major statement culturally and economically. Many cities benefit A LOT off these teams so we'd have politicians now being forced to really go after these issues. People would be inspired enough to stop buying merchandise or acknowledge racism exists. A lot of good can come out of it but I don't think it'll ever happen. At least not in my lifetime

They won't openly force anyone to do anything, they'll boycott them financially and blackball these black owned industries.
If you have the top flight athletes, they'll want a top flight salary and sponsorships. A lot of these dudes don't have the integrity in them to take pay cuts in order to establish a black owned league.

But ain't no way in hell an all black football league is going to survive. You know how many football leagues have come into existence in the last 50 years that are now defunct? And that was without depending on only 13% of the population.

The NFL was a success before the inclusion of black folks. However, since the introduction of black people, the league has risen to greater heights.
