- how many junkies would be walking around

- how much would crime be down

- how much tax money would be brought in from it all

Weed/Shrooms/ coke I can see being legal..

But then you get into shyt like heroin/opiates etc and you can’t really just do those recreationally

But who’s really trying that shyt outta nowhere...

Certain drugs then turn you into a zombie and often lead you to a criminal path just to obtain them..

:jbhmm:

**Forgot to say the war on drugs never has & never will work either.. Ruins more lives then saves

I also just read about Portugal legalizing all drugs and it said

“There is evidence that if drugs were legal, there would be less extreme drug taking. In Portugal, all drugs became legal over 10 years ago, and drug use has become safer (fewer deaths by overdose and fewer cases of HIV).”

USA is in a unique position so I think it's impossible to completely predict, but there would probably be more good than bad.

One of the most interesting side effects is whether it would decrease the power of cartels in Mexico and Columbia and perhaps improve the situation in those countries as well.

based on what happened in portugal it would be overwhelmingly net positive. it might not be as positive in the US because drug situations are different between the two countries. that being said i think its better to look for solutions to drug related problems in a context where drugs are legal and you arent just throwing people in prison for possession than in one where drugs arent legal. weve been trying to do the latter for half a century and it doesnt fukking work.

Good it needs to be done. They’re probably the ones that lobbied for marijuana to be illegal.
im sure they have at some point but originally it was william randolph hearst. he had a huge paper empire and he didnt want hemp to threaten it so they created a bunch of (often super racist) propoganda

Don't forget about the settler state we share a border with.

I think the US should legalize marijuana as a first step.

I've said here before that I don't use it, but I think there's not much of an argument against legalizing it while tobacco and alcohol remain legal. I'd go further to argue that cigarettes and alcohol has destroyed more lives than marijuana, even including the harmful effects of drug cartels that sell marijuana.

The Fed should couple marijuana legalization with the release of all inmates who were imprisoned for marijuana possession.

It's a big leap, but there needs to be some restitution to those whose lives were ruined for trying to roll a joint.

every drug should be completely legal and without charge for personal use. under an ounce of weed, half ounce of coke, 10 x pills, ounce of shrooms, etc. criminalizing possession is a fukking joke, a futile effort, and a waste of money, and if people need help with drugs they can go get it

we're witnessing firsthand why weed is still illegal with this fukking smear campaign being ran against the dude who was murdered by the pig in dallas :scusthov:

California is expunging marijuana convictions going back to 1975 I believe. Massachusetts is also expunging low level marijuana charges.

Traffickers will remain fukked but low and mid level offenses will disappear, which is a great thing.
