Between this experiment and the electrocution experiment in which people in a room believe a person in another room is being shocked to death but refuse to even stand up and see what's going on, we can see many people are not heroes. For better or worse, they just react to whatever is going on in life by watching and occasionally uttering something. More proactive types that either stop these experiments outright by thoroughly examining the experiment locale/stage or by actively stopping the assaulter/wrong-doer in the experiment are rare.

In a much more sick experiment, if a guy was simulating a rape on a woman, I wonder how many people would take pictures with a camera/cell phone, stand there gawking or simply walk away. Probably more people would react in a disappointing fashion than one would expect. Heroes aren't heroes because they can fly, shoot lightning bolts and walk up walls. They are heroes because they get off their rear and actually do something - something that many people won't do.

Well, if it were a man strangling a woman, you'd see a lot more :cape:
You wouldn't even have to change the experiment, just the variables. Once you change the gender and/or race and/or age group, we can get a greater grasp on what's really trill in society.

I hope they do exactly that, this is entertainment :obama:

If my wife is with me I'm getting away from the scene and calling the cops. If she isn't there

Gotta say i`d intervene, especially if the dude only had a rope and was strangling him.

Now if the man has a machete or a gun, or some other 1 move and you're done type of women, self preservation is the first law of nature.
