It's never gonna happen BUT:

We need to do away with the AAU/circuits and leave ALL development to Professionally linked ACADEMIES

We need a LEGIT FARM SYSTEM that is NOT COLLEGE
My kid played AAU one thing that stood out is for the two days you gotta pay 20 dollars just to watch developmental basketball. Think of all the parents that attend those two day events it’s a true hustle.

oh for sure

I feel like a hypocrite because I'm firmly entrenched in youth grassroots basketball in my area.

Kids are burnt out and parents have to spend WAY TO MUCH MONEY.

I want to see change but it's to much of an industry at this point :yeshrug:

Academies if you want to “fix” pro sports. 30 teams handles 100 players in different phases of development. They all have academies in Europe and Africa as well.
:blessed:
Owners & players are too money hungry to give up revenue.
:mjlol:
The current system is what it is. You want your child to play college ball for “free”. Spend ten racks on travel teams, personal trainers, summer programs, and training camps.
:francis:
Imagine being a parent and dropping 60-100k just for your child to have a shot at college ball. All of that time and travel spent as well.
:picard:
That said, both my girls will be playing sports until they find something the like. I doubt I go the private trainer route unless they have the talent and passion for it.
:wow:
