That's because the foreign stars are all from different countries. At the end of the day the US still has to biggest talent pool, this country has more people those smaller countries.

But if you had it where it was USA vs World, or even USA v Europe, it would get spooky. Because right now you got Giannis, Luka, Joker, playing with scrubs internationally for countries much smaller than the USA. Now what if they were all on the same team?

Exactly. Jokic and Giannis were just getting started as well. So clearly these feelings about AAU ball vs international development predates when foreign players started racking up MVPs. Kobe and others at the time basically saw all of this coming.

Avenger teaming up is a country of 300M people playing countries of 10 million (Greece), 6.6 M (Serbia), and 2.2M (Slovenia). Obviously thats the structure of the Olympics, but it doesn't mean much for y'all to say oh the USA always win the Olympics. Well duh, we're 4-10x bigger than all of our opponents. France only has 66M people. Spain, 48M

if you set up a Ryder Cup style competition with the USA vs Europe things would be much closer.

Maybe actually play American basketball rather than trying to be more like the rest of the world. Stop making every player have to be a shooter. Eliminate the zone and make it a fair, varied fight. You gonna be on the floor you better be able to guard your man.

The AAU shyt is disgusting. Truly sad what it has become. NBA may have to intervene, as this is affecting them and their bottom line with these dudes coming in with all these miles and suffering all these wear and tear injuries in their 20s.
