no need in helping a person like that...she has to earn that opportunity back by showing you some respect and at least giving you a legit congratulations for your (soon to be) promotion.

i just dont understand the logic of being jealous of someone who helped you moving up...if anything i'd think if you move up then the odds of me moving up would also increase to a certain degree :manny:

It really is bizarre. Recently, she told me that she really needs a promotion, so her and her husband can finally have a baby & buy a house. That still doesn't justify her jealousy and animosity towards me. But should I be more understanding? I fee like this a test from God... and I'm failing.

It's self-centered and blind of her to think that would justify her actions. Nothing wrong with being a little salty if you dont get an promotion, but ultimately you cant let that get in the way of how you interact with coworkers and she proved that she's not worthy of any sort of advancement right there.

There is nothing else for you to understand. Some people just dont give a damn about other people. They want instant gratification. It'd be an amazing story if she got this random promotion and could start her family and blah blah blah, but thats just not the reality of the situation. She has to fall in line like everyone else and work her way up like you did.

True.

Thank you! I can't help but feel bad though whenever I see her clueless, but then I remember all of this... and think

It amazes me how many problems women seem to have with each other in the workplace. Its always the same story too. A place hires another woman. At first, the two women bond and become friends. They help each other out. Then something happens, then they become enemies. It turns into some competition between the two.

I feel like there has to be some sort of reason why she feels as if she deserves the promotion over you. Its hard to believe she's under-qualified, and you do most of her work, yet she thinks she deserves to be promoted over you.

She's not under-qualified, it's more so that English is her 2nd language. Therefore, I often write emails for her & always take EXTRA time explaining things to her (and even showing her how. I guess 'deserve' was the wrong word to use here; she just wants it.

Erm, I rarely have problems with co-workers. It's unfair to call this a women issue. I'm sure men have their own problems too with the alpha male.

:ld:

Also, I wouldn't call her my 'enemy' -- that's a little melodramatic. I'm not the type to get all soap opera when relaying info. (minus the smilies, I just love them!)

:skip:

I just know when I'm being taken advantage of.

:beli:

The question was simply: Shall I change my interactions with her, allowing multiple Ls to come her way.

or should I just forgive and forget?

The latter is what I'd like to do, but I struggle with that Ghandi sh.t

:wtb:

I won't harm you but if you take me for a fool..

:dwillhuh:

Soon after, I gotta hit you with the..

Also, is this girl more experienced or older than you, OP?

Sorry, I missed this Q.

Yes, she's older than me, and wants to start a family asap.

I'm sorry, but single and young people have dreams too.

:pachaha:

Experience wise, she has more than me in her native country. But I have the edge since I speak proper English. Every time, she wants to send the boss or anyone an email... she asks me to literally type everything out. What's even more annoying is when we're carrying out projects and I do 90% of the work, she tells me to make sure I include HER name in the email & act as if it was a 50:50 joint effort.

:skip:

Writing this out is just making me mad now.

:wow:

I'm done being a...

:cape:

I'm not...

:demonic:

but I refuse to help people who in the end want to :piss: on me!

if this is in fact true, then it sounds like a bytch gotta get her ass beat. simple. :manny:

That's just not how I roll.

She wants a promotion after 3 months?

tOUup.gif

I admit that I chuckled too.

:pachaha:

But, I've never seen a woman so determined to climb that ladder.

:dwillhuh:

I shouldn't be surprised though. All she ever talks about is money & how much her and her husband plan to spend on a house.

The money to me is just a bonus. I actually really enjoy what I do.

First off are you sure that is the way ol'girl feels about you, or is that rumors?

Second, if you have the promotion on lock, I don't see why you can't help ol'girl if she asks. Because you will be working with her

UPDATE: I've decided to forgive.

Emotions should be left out of the workforce.

The universe doesn't run on feelings & neither should we.

:skip:

I'm going to help her whenever she asks, not for her, but because that's what I should do. The 'team' is more important than my feelings.

Definitely one of the top 5 hard lessons, I've had to learn in life.
