:Bombaye: Finding them diamonds in the rough
Erasmus has been churning them out. Half those kids come out of the Brooklyn Skyhawk pop warner camp I came out of.

Skyhawks set the best foundation for young football players in the city.

We are finally producing D-1 talent on a regular basis

They're also going after another Erasmus kid, but so is Bama and Clemson.

Matthew Jones, Erasmus Hall, Defensive Tackle

I just saw video. I'm impressed....good pocket presence/awareness, deepball and ball placement is great, and seems smart and knows how to take care of ball and have a good connection with receivers.

He looks to be short so maybe that is an issue. He looks better than some QBs I seen in college football games. Hell he probably could've did better with Texans than Brock Ozweiller LOL

Not surprised. Still a long way to go, but this kid has been on traveling teams from the age of 7, winning ships down in Florida. His dad was a major coach in the pee wee leagues. I think playing in Staten Island and facing mostly jersey teams helped him
People outside NY don't realize how serious Staten Island football is

It's basically an extension of Jersey football.

I tell people all the time one of the best weapons in this upcoming draft at RB/slot Is Curtis Samuel and he's from Brooklyn and went to Erasmus Hall with my homeboy.

I've known about him since he was in grade school and my boy coached him

He's a Jr. who just won the NYC championship, throwing for 2200 yards and 34 tds. Only issue is that he's 5'10, but lawd this dude is poised and accurate as fukk. Best thing is he knows when to put some mustard on the ball and when to add touch

I hope he has a growth spurt next year. He's Div I with another 4 inches to his height. Right now he's Div II level due to his size

yea due to his lack of size he's lucky to see D1

His height is hurting him from getting looks. Only small Div I schools (Wagner, Stonybrook).
