i can tell its alot of different opinions on what "hood" is

is it you environment? economic situation? mindset?
to me its your mindset. when i say or when people say they from the hood
i assume they mean a collective mindset of a community

hoods dont neccessarily mean bad to me
im from the hood but its rich nikkas all through my hood
broke nikkas through my hood
9-5 nikkas , school nikkas( not too many unfortunately)

whats yall opinions? what yall think differentiates the"hood" from the "ghetto"

Hoods are one of the reason why the black community is in so much trouble.
Most of these places are run by drug delears and their territories. I know that for a fact I lived in one in Brooklyn NY before I moved out to the DMV.

Tear that sh!t down and find a new way to house poor people.

Chicago is the main reason why hoods gotta go....shyt is beyond savagery now...

And if you have noticed, most white people in Chicago don't give a fukk about the killings because only n!ggas are getting killed.

Most drug addicts feel comfortable in the hood, cops don't patrol there like the 'burbs

I must admit I did by some stuff from some of these guys doing my HS days but everything I loved about the hood growing up is what i have come to hate

i feel u....im 24 i got locked up when i was 21 nikkas wasback then the game fukked up now in that was only 3years ago.im from 6mile davison,east warren,morang whitter area i be all over the east but my main spot is 6mile

Poor urban area with a predominantly working poor/welfare population, crap schools high crime and a bunch of cheap start up businesses (liquor stores china spots and a couple of hood restraunts)

To me hood means you will see public housing, or a lot of renters in general in a low income neighborhood. In that neighborhood you can see a few things. The houses look rundown and unkempt. The houses are on top of each other. You see the plastic big wheels missing one wheel. You see broken grills on brown lawns. You could see other random shyt like mattresses, couches and other dumb shyt lying around. Houses that have bars on their windows. Graffiti. Garbage in the streets. People using bed sheets as curtains. fukked up venetian blinds. People just lingering in the streets doing nothing but standing outside of stores. You see shoes hanging on powerlines. Needles at playgrounds. 5 churches every 3 blocks. Old ladies walking with grocery carts. Drug dealers on the block. A lot of Chinese spots, bonus points if you can't actually sit down in them. Lots full of nothing but weeds next to burned down houses, bonus points for boarded up windows. Super bonus points if the area is barricaded by an expressway, a railroad track or a river. Scary shyt.
