PC gaming was supposed to be better than the consoles right?

PC dudes love to clown the consoles for their paltry performace. Then y'all wanna claim slightly better or in sometimes worse performace is sufficient on the PC side

Never expected "top tier, future proof". I expected good performace for at least a couple years, based on recommendations from this site. In this thread I've heard that the 660 is old and underpowered AND I've heard that it is sufficient and I just don't know what I'm doing. You don't do this, but other people switch up the narrative as it fits in the pursuit to prove PC gaming is cheaper than console gaming.

back then you said...

I wasn't looking for max perfomance. Just something suitable to start off with

From what I can gather the card I got is the best performace at that price so I'm good with that

Hell I almost went a step down so I wouldn't have to buy a power supply :heh:

it was "something suitable to start off with" and now you want to upgrade. nothing wrong with that, but stop trying to point fingers and blame other people

What I'm saying is that now after tryin to play games like Watch dogs, Wolfenstien and Dragon age, i didn't even really get "something suitable to start off with" the card was pretty much struggling from the jump. When I got the card I was told it would be suitable for 1080p 60fps for a good while. Just like now the recommendation is a 280x. If I was to buy that I would get the same struggle performance as I got from the 660 for this years intensive titles like The Witcher.

I'm not blaming anybody. I made my decision, I'm good with it. I'm just saying the PC gamer narrative that you can buy cheap parts and play at master race levels and not have to upgrade every couple years is just false. I believed it, I tried it, its not true.

my gtx 780 "struggles" with Watch Dogs and Dragon Age, in that it can't maintain 60fps at 'max' settings. Wolfenstein was alright for me, but it did push my shyt to it's limits, and I know a lot of people had performance issues with that game. all 3 of those games are well known examples of games that have performance issues on PC

That's fine, what I'm saying is that when these conversations come up. None of you ever say "well you might have some problems with the most intesive games" it's always
"Go ahead buy that cheap card it'll play all games on high/ultra, and its easy to do"

PC gamers(not you specifically) clown 900p Xbox, then turn around and recommend parts that aren't really gonna perform better; and in some cases like watch dogs and Wolfenstien., they perform worse.

Nah, they just didn't know how to help me out. Most just have basic rigs. They don't know how to handle high end shyt. I finally realized that and moved on to a more suitable forum. Plus, they don't help anybody. I helped more people than most in that thread. The "experts" just remain silent. They can't be bothered or just don't know how to fix shyt.

Now I just talk about games on here. Hardware goes elsewhere.

And my 3 gpus will be immensely more helpful than your cpu. That's a fact

Breh be honest, you be doing super OD enthusiast shyt for no reason :dead:

You passed high-end like 4 tiers ago breh :russ:

Meach, you gotta understand that the most intensive games don't count for a lot of people on here. They get mad when you bring them up. The unfortunate truth is that you gotta have a top-tier card to play most games at ultra 60fps right now, thanks to the new systems (they fukked up the game with the shared ram). Nobody wants to tell you that, cuz it makes the PC seem weak, but it's the truth. I'm about to buy 3 gpus to play at ultra and 45-60fps in the future....3! And these will be top of the line shyt. Granted, I'll be gaming at much higher resolutions than 1080p, but you need serious hardware if you wanna game at ultra 60fps at higher resolutions. Some games even need serious hardware at 1080p, but then again "nobody plays those games." A mid-teir card is good for most games, but not all. It's just the way it is. You can look a performance benchmarks to back that up. It is what it is. It'll be a few years before mid-range cards can murder games like they did during the mid to late cycle of the last gen of consoles. PC gaming is in a transitional period thanks to the new consoles. It always happens. The landscape has changed.

:manny: true.

And it's about to get worse :lupe:

I'm thinking with the titan 2s or 390xs, I can rock 6k with 3 1440p monitors. We'll see though. I may have to stick with 1080p monitors if the titan 2s or 390xs don't live up to the rumors.

But don't worry, I won't be in the pc thread talking about that shyt breaking (I got other forums for that now). I might post a 3d mark score though :win:
