Up until then we still used a VCR at home.

Yeah I copped a PS2 in 01 so I used to use it as a DVD player but I used it for games more than anything.

95% of our movies and all that were still on VCR.

I got a DVD player back before they standardised the DVD cases, when they had those rounded edges and were clear plastic. Must've been 1998 or some shyt.

I got that og apex that played vcd's and bootleg dvd's back in 2001, for 79.99 at circuit city.gave it to my mom and its still running strong.

Yeah it was the PS2. Sony tried to do the same with the PS3, but did not realize that physical media is on its way out.
