especially now since I'm about to graduate next year and i'm in the high classes it seems like only the damn indians made it there.Got the whole department smelling of curry.
Anyone ever been to the Science/Engineering department of their school?

Will be attending Medical School, so I won't have a issue concerning employment. My major is irrelevant and if I wasn't, I would have still chosen it and went to school for my PhD because I'm interested in the subject matter. Nueroscience minor regardless so I'd still eat a hell of a lot better than you either way it goes Don't lose any sleep about it. I'm not.

Any chemical engineering majors here? I'm majoring in Chemistry but I've been considering switching. If I do, I will have to stay in school for an extra year.

I don't know a soul with a Psych degree that's unemployed. What's more, your article is from 2011. You're not making 6 figures with a Psych degree unless you're a PhD, but that's not every guys aspiration. A BS is Psych isn't the most lucrative field, but there are employment opportunities out there. I'm not sure why people are attempting to dissuade individuals from Humanities. There is a reason Engineers make the kind of money they do out of the gate. They're in high demand. Everyone can't under-go the rigor of an Engineering curriculum. Granted we need more, but what exactly do some of the STEM heads think will happen if the market is over saturated with those degrees?

Lets get into med school first before you start assuming you'll be eating well. I hope you're studying for your MCAT breh..
URM with over a 3.5, great EC's, and over 150 shadowing hours. As far as studying for the MCAT there's no need to do so when it's a year away. 3-5 months prior to study and my stats are fine. And if I don't go? I'll pursue a PhD in dreaded Psych. Since the topic of discussion was unemployment, it was fitting to let it be known that I would be eating well with a MD or not in a field I enjoy. Don't you worry about it, breh.
I'm not discouraging anyone to do anything I'm just saying the job prospects should factor in to your decision on which major to choose.

Personally, like I said, I don't know anyone with a Psych degree that's unemployed. Zilch. I do agree with the bold, but a lot of kids don't have the aptitude for a lot of these degrees, and that is because they're not adequately prepared growing up by their schools. A lot of people argue Lib arts & Humanities and the first quip is salary. That's just not the be all end all for everyone. I would advise anyone getting a Psych degree to pursue a PhD, but there are jobs to be had with a BS in Psych.
