If you knew as much as you thought you did you would know hard science majors are a dime a dozen. Take it from someone who has been in constant contact with individuals in the actual profession. As far as academics, ADCOMS are looking for stellar GPA's and MCAT scores. Period. So if you really *couldn't care less about how versed on the subject and how qualified I am, do us both a favor spare me anymore of the passive aggressive, bitter replies.
I don't know if your a minority, but Aspiring Docs is a good resource for miniorities looking to enter the medical field https://www.aamc.org/students/aspiring/
You also might want to consider med school's outside the US St. George's University - SGU Caribbean Medical School, Caribbean Veterinary School and Graduate School in Grenada
Welcome | UMHS Caribbean Medical School St. Kitts
there are a few others in the Carribean.

did u just imply that an Econ major may be jobless? :mjpls:

What kind of jobs does an actual Econ Major do?

Like what businesses do an Econ major work for?

Every company needs accountants, IT, engineers, etc.

why you askin me? google it. I ain't into econ.

Nope, but I always ask this question and never get an answer.

What jobs require a degree in Econ?

Isn't Economics just as much a science like Philosophy, Sociology and stuff like that?

The only difference is that it is in the Business school.

with the good gpa, networking and extracurriculars

many government jobs
equity research
investment banking
commercial banking
insurance
consulting
real estate
financial analyst roles in corporate finance
asset/wealth management
education

many fields. i swear some of yall are idiots.

liberal arts, sociology etc. doesnt deserve to be in the same breath as econ.

i'd advise econ majors couple their major with a minor either a language or something business related though. Namely Finance, Operations or Accounting.

Econ majors have to take Linear Algebra. I respect any major that has that in it's curriculum. Although the linear algebra applications to econ are much easier/more intuitive

My marketing professor mention this major a couple weeks ago. From his perspective you should have no trouble finding a position with excellent pay.

My first job out of school started at 60k. this was dec 2011. Im up to 65k after a recent raise. I got into the major because a counselor suggested it. Had no idea what it was but I'm glad that I did. There is always jobs available. Usually gotta be open to relocation tho. Alot of the jobs are in manufacturing facilities so cities like DC and NY wont have as many opportunities as more industrial-based cities/states.

Look into it tho. You'll definitely pull more money coming out of college than a marketing degree. Thats a fact.
